Client council

The board of the GP Emergency Station attaches great importance to the involvement of and participation opportunities for patients in order to improve the quality of care. The Participation of Clients in Healthcare Institutions Act (WMCZ) fits in seamlessly with this and thus provides all institutions with a legal basis for the establishment of a Client Council. That is why it was decided in 2022 to set up such a council for the General Practitioners Emergency Post Maastricht and Heuvelland.

Purpose

The purpose of the Client Council is to represent the common interests of clients. We look with the eyes of all residents of the region at the way in which the General Practitioners Emergency Post carries out its tasks. After all, every resident can be a patient of the GP Emergency Station at some point. The Client Council has the legal authority to provide solicited and unsolicited advice to the Executive Board on subjects that are important to clients. Patient information, protection of privacy and the complaints procedure are examples of this. The board of the GP Emergency Post and the Client Council hold regular meetings about this.

Tasks

The Client Council focuses on the general interest of patients who make use of the care offered under the responsibility of the Maastricht and Heuvelland Emergency Medical Clinics. The council has opportunities to think along and discuss a wide range of topics. If you have suggestions for improving the quality of care and communication about it, you are cordially invited to contact the Client Council.

Composition

The Client Council currently consists of five members. These members represent clients from the entire catchment area of the Maastricht and Heuvelland GP Emergency Post and have no substantive or business ties with the GP Emergency Post.
